What are the first signs of spring?

For me, when I see the first wasp of the year, I know that spring is on its way.... it's a shame I haven't seen one yet! Of course, there's feeling the sun on my back too - now that makes me smile!

In many places the crocuses and snowdrops are beginning to flower, and the green shoots of daffodils are just starting to come up through the cold, damp ground.

According to the Parks Trust, we should start to see primroses and celandines in wooded areas, and by the end of March there should be a carpet of bluebells and the white flowers of anemones. As well as things to 'look' out for, there are also the wondrous sounds and smells of the spring, from song thrush calls to the first scent of pollen on a still day.

There is a united feeling of happiness at this time of year as the sun starts to come out from hiding and the days finally start to get a little longer - and people begin to brave drinking coffee outside the cafes!

Lets get a 'Spring' theme going! Whether it be stories or photographs, get posting!
