The Woking Town Twinning association is an independant organisation
responsible for Town Twinning in Woking. Twinning Towns enables
contacts, friendships and education between two towns. It promotes
understandig about different cultures and encourages the exchange of
views and ideas.
The WTTA was founded in 1980 and is run by a combination of an
independant management committee and memebers of the council. It
encourages and supports new and existing memberships by putting
together social events, publishing newsletters, promoting twinning, and
can also offer small grants to organisations needing assistance with a
first twinning project.
Twinning is open to people of all ages and interests, local groups,
organisations, families or individuals can all have the opportunity to
meet and communicate with Woking's twin towns.
Woking has three twin towns, which are Amstelveen in the Netherlands
since 1983, Le Plessis-Robinson in France since 1992 and Rastatt in
Germany since 2001.
