The Big Lunch 2010

The Big Lunch is back on Sunday 18 July 2010.

People will be opening their doors to their neighbours and offering a wide range of entertainment from food and drink to street parties. You can volunteer to host a Big Lunch for your local community or show your support by going along to the Big Lunch that is happening near to you. Just visit the website and type in your postcode to see Big Lunches near you. Approximately a million people took part in the 2009 event, and creators are hoping for an even bigger success story this year!

To organise your own lunch, take a look at the information on the official website. On the page you'll find a checklist of what you need for a Big Lunch, plus downloadable full-colour leaflets, posters and logos.

"The trouble is we’re all human and deep down we’re often shy. It’s not easy making small talk. It takes courage to stop being a stranger. But once you do, you’ll realise how many good, talented and interesting people there are in your neighbourhood who all feel the same way you do. Those who took part last year know that on the day, those inhibitions soon disappear in a game of Twister."
