I am part of a project aimed at Poppy Day via the website http://tinyurl.com/2d8tzfw The way I got involved was because of a painting I did of Pyrford Poppies which is on the Surrey Artists website. Chris Grace who built the website for local artists was inspired by my painting and recent programmes about the war to write a poem about Poppy Day. He knows two very talented musicians and asked them to turn the poem into a song. This is now available to listen to on the http://tinyurl.com/25z8848 website. 20% of the proceeds with go to registered charities. My wish was for some of the money raised to go to The Alzheimers Society so I was delighted that Chris agreed for 20% all the profits from the art will go to them.
I hope as many people as possible will take a look at the website. Chris has done a fantastic job and the song is very moving. I would love have your feedback on the website.
