Thought I would share a recent act of kindness. I went for a walk by the canal in St Johns last Friday and caught sight of a gentleman stooped by the canal where he had broken the ice and was tempting a swan off the ice towards him with some bread. He told me that if she stayed there too long her feathers would stick to the ice and she would not be able to move. On my return along the tow path, sure enough the swan was safely in the water.
