A MOTORIST was racially abused and assaulted after she was involved in a car crash in Sheerwater.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman, was behind the wheel of a Citroen C3 which collided with a Fiat Punto at 8.30am yesterday (November 23) in Albert Drive.

Police said the driver of the Fiat was verbally abusive to the victim before another suspect arrived and became racially abusive and pushed her in the chest.

Detective Constable Mark Fordham said: "Surrey Police will not tolerate this type of aggressive and racist abuse. The incident has caused the driver immense upset and some physical anxiety and I would urge anyone who may have seen what happened to call me on 101."

Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference WK/12/7028. Alternatively the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
