SHOPPERS and residents are being urged to help stop a spate of offensive graffiti at a shopping centre in Woking.

Last week a 19-year-old girl was arrested after racist abuse was spray painted in a shop at Lion Retail Park in Maybury on Monday November 12.

Racist and vulgar graffiti has also been sprayed on a wall close to the nearby Shah Jahan Mosque in Oriental Road.

An 18-year-old woman has also been interviewed under caution in connection with the incidents.

More offensive graffiti has since emerged and police are appealing for help to tackle it.

Detective Constable Tony Maker investigating said: "This type of offensive graffiti, which has in some instances been racist, will not be tolerated and I need anyone with any information relating to it to contact me as soon as possible. "Please call me directly on 101 and help maintain our neighbourhood as a pleasant and safe environment in which to live and work."
