Woking winning by 2-0 today (Sat 30 July) gave an optimistic start to the Summer holidays for many against a Kingstonian team that fielded five ex-Woking players - Tom Hutchinson, Jerome Maledon, Ian Selley, Gary MacDonald and Neil Barrett.
There was a change to the Woking line-up where Joe McNerney replaced Alan Inns who got stuck in traffic and even the Chairman who broke down on the A3 had trouble getting there.
Hammond came close to scoring at the beginning after a ball forwarded from King and was knocked down to Davies by Ademola who scored the first goal in the 22nd minute by heading in at the back post and the second in the 30th minute. Ademola just missed his hat trick shooting just wide on the edge of the area.
Half time saw substitutions of Sogbanmu and Sole for Doyle and Hammond. Sogbanmu almost scored at his first attempt which was saved by the keeper at chest height and new physio Stuart Douglas also made his first appearance on the field attending to Derek Duncan who was injured but managed to play on.
Andy Little made a great save diving to his left and despite no goals being let in by Woking they too didn't make any further goals and finished the second half maintaining their lead of 2-0 to win the match.
Attendance at the game was 274 which
