Surrey Police is warning that a number of potentially dangerous veterinary drugs could be on the market following a break-in at a practice in Woking.

Hundreds of pounds worth of veterinary drugs, including those used to put animals to sleep, were stolen in the burglary at the Pet Doctors premises in Robin Hood Road, Woking. The theft occurred sometime between 5pm on Saturday, 24 December, and 8am on Wednesday, 28 December.

Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Karen Hughes said: "These drugs are for use in the treatment of animals and could be very dangerous in the wrong hands.

"I would urge anyone who has been offered such drugs or has any other information about this incident to get in contact immediately. If you don't want to talk to the police you can give information anonymously via Crimestoppers."

Surrey Police is also investigating an attempted break-in at Rowlands Pharmacy in Hermitage Road, St Johns, during the early hours of yesterday morning (28 December).

T/DCI Hughes added: "It is too early to say whether the two incidents are linked but I would urge anyone who thinks they could have information about either incident to call Surrey Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
