Corkers Wine bar in West Byfleet is celebrating Movember in style tomorrow (Sat 26 November). In recent years November has been changing to Movember as men get into the moustache revolution for charity.

Traditionally, all facial hair is shaved at the beginning, and men grow different styles in an effort to complete the month with a finely styled 'tache, raising funds along the way to support research for a cure for Prostate and Testicular cancer. You can spot those who aspire to Captain Mainwaring, Blakey from 'On the Buses' or an old style Jimmy Edwards. Whether these names from the 'old days' are because generally moustaches have gone out of fashion until their ironic growth in November or because no one actually springs to mind from the post war era apart from the stern looking brother from Sparks or Freddie Mercury it seems it remains a November thing and hasn't started a new trend. However, if that means that the effort to raise money for a cure for Prostrate and Testicular cancer remains at the forefront of what it is about not many would argue with that.
