Man found with serious head injuries in St John's car park

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after another man was found in a car with serious head injuries in the St John's area of Woking.

A police cordon was in place around a car park in St John's Lye where the victim, a man in his 40s, was found in a silver Toyota at 2pm on Tuesday (April 30).
He was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London.
The suspect, also aged in his 40s, was located in a nearby toilet block and was taken into police custody.
Detective Sergeant Sherren Smith is appealing for witnesses to the incident. She said: "There were a number of people out enjoying the sunshine on the lye around the time of this offence and I would urge anyone with any information relating to this vicious assault to call Surrey Police urgently. This type of violence will not be tolerated in our neighbourhoods and I would like to reassure the community that this was an isolated incident."
