Knaphill shooting man admits gun and bomb hoax charges

A MAN shot by armed police in Knaphill has admitted to possession of an imitation gun and making a bomb hoax.

Richard Pell, 41, from Oak Tree Road, Knaphill, Woking appeared by video link from HMP High Down to enter the guilty plea at Guildford Crown Court yesterday ( 11 October 2012).

Police were called to Oak Tree Road, Knaphill, shortly after 10pm on July 25 following reports that a man was armed and was intending to harm himself and others.

Armed officers shot Pell in the hip and he was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting for treatment.

Pell has been remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Crown Court on November 23 for sentencing.
