Cyclist seriously injured in Horsell crash

A CYCLIST is fighting for her life in hospital after she suffered serious head injuries in a collision with a car in Horsell this morning (August 28).

Emergency services were called to the scene in Brewery Road at around 7.25am following the collision between a blue BMW 3 Series and a pedal cycle.

Police said the rider of the cycle, a woman in her 50s, had suffered life-threatening head injuries and was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital. 

The road and a number of surrounding routes are currently closed while an investigation is carried out.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision, or the circumstances leading up to it, to come forward.
