PLANS to build a site for gypsies on agricultural land in West Byfleet has attracted scores of objections from local residents.

A proposal for a change of use of land from agricultural to four pitches for an extended Romani Gypsy family at land south of Murray's Lane was  submitted to Woking Borough Council on January 12.

The plans, which include four day rooms, hardstanding and a septic tank have so far attracted 376 comments from residents and groups.

A residents' meeting is to be held at Byfleet Village Hall on Monday, February 11 starting at 7.30pm to discuss the proposals.

Residents have until Feburary 25 to comment on the proposals.

Hmmm. An agricultural land to be replaced by a residential building? A difficult to weigh in. Good luck!
