CCTV footage has been released of a man wanted in connection with indecent exposure in Woking.

The victim, a woman in her early 20s, was walking along York Road around 2.50am when she noticed a smartly dressed man following her.

He indecently exposed himself to her and attempted to grab her leg but left in the direction of Montgomery Road when the victim called police.

Police said the woman was left shaken following the ordeal but was not physically hurt.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Clare Nettleton, said: "We have released these images in the hope that someone may recognise this man and come forward and tell us who he is. For the victim to be approached in this way as she was walking home was extremely distressing for her.

"We are still appealing for witnesses - many people would have been out and about in Woking on Saturday night, possibly enjoying Christmas parties, and therefore I believe someone must have information on this offence which may help officers with their investigation.

"I would urge anyone who recognises this man or has any other information to come forward as soon as possible."

The offender is described as a white man, aged in his mid 30s, around 5ft 10in tall, with spiky hair. He was wearing smart trousers and shoes with a dark blazer and spoke with an accent, possibly Eastern European.

Anyone who has information on this incident is urged to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference WK/12/7568 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
